This is the house I lived in
during my Senior year
and where my folks lived
until my Dad was killed in a
car accident in 1970.
My Mom lived there several more years
until she moved to Ohio.

I lived in this home on North Shore Drive from the time I was adopted until the winter before my 8th birthday.
Recent picture below. ¯
My folks built this
house in Country Club Hgts.
We lived here from
1950
until the summer of
1959.
The house was built in 1915.
Mavis Whelan took this picture a year or so ago. ®
I'm looking for more pictures

Please stop back by again soon.
This is the home I lived in from when I was adopted by the Hayden's at age one until the winter of 1949-50. We moved to a cottage on South Shore for that winter while our home in Country Club Hgts was being built. We moved in there in the Spring of 1950.
I have many memories of this big square white house. I remember having the measles here and having to stay in a dark room. I remember football games on the radio and the smell of burning leaves... mmmmm. Even at that age I roamed around and don't remember my folks ever being upset about it. Those were truly the 'good ole days'.
I understand that this is how the house looks now after being remolded and updated. I have been in contact with the current owners and sent them an enlargement of how it looked originally. I believe they run the Cabin Coffee in town.
I remember Dan Collins lived just around the corner from me. When we moved to Country Club Hgts, they also moved out on North Shore Drive and now he lives in Williamsburg Va which is only 45 to 60 minutes away from where I live in Virginia Beach, Va.
I have a lot of memories from living in these houses and I'm sure you all do too of your childhood homes. Please share them with us and pictures if you have them. Things have changed but the memories in our minds will always be there. Julie Hayden Traub (CLHS 1960)
