Clear Lake's Central School- Though the Years
The article reads:
Just days after the wrecking ball had begun its work, Central School came down as the result of fire.  The Clear Lake Fire Dept was called out on the report of smoke in a house at 4:43am Jan 15, 2000.  Instead, the smoke was coming from nearby Central School.  Clear Lake, Ventura and Mason City firefighters were called to the blaze which was blamed on cutting torches used by the construction crews.

The building with the Romanesque arches burned in 1912.
It was replaced with the building we knew as Central Jr. Hi. (below)
which was the High School until our building was built in 1936.
