I attended Mason City School of Cosmetology two weeks after graduation. Graduated in May of 1968. There were a lot of good times there! Went to work in a salon in Mason City for a short time but didn't like the drive everyday. Then came to Clear Lake and worked for a couple other salons. Married Dennis Ouverson at The Little Brown Church. In 1979 I opened my own salon in my home. In 1990 we built a home on the front yard of where I grew up and I moved my salon there and still work today.
I have a son Christopher and a daughter Lana. Both work for Winnebago Industries, both are single, so the grandchildren are NOT in my future! My husband got his pilots license so I spend a lot of time flying, hanging out at the airport and going to the Oshkosh Air Show. We built a Sonerai IIL in our garage. We built another garage in the back yard when it outgrew the house. When we weren't flying we were snowmobiling in northern and southern Minnesota and all around Clear Lake and north Iowa. "Ask Pat Harlan about the Winnebago 500!" Due to the aging process we no longer snowmobile and he flies RC planes. Crashing isn't nearly as expensive.
Bowling and folk-art painting took the rest of my time along with family get-togethers. I am still bowling but an not as involved as in the past. Now I do quilting and am learning to do some machine quilting on my sewing machine. I have met a lot of really nice gals and have a great time with them. I am also involved in the Lake Area Quilt Guild. I have three Yorkies that are really spoiled. I raised them for awhile but it is too hard to let them go to new homes.
I remember Clear View Roller Rink most because if it was open I was there...scooping Federal afterward...working at Silver Boot and the Lake Crest in the summer.
I can't think of any song so guess I liked most all of them.

This is a picture of my "bugsy" in one of my quilts!!
Whenever they see a quilt near where they can get on it, they are there!! They make it hard to sew binding on. I say all my quilts are "yorkie approved". Sara
