Working / Retired? Activities you enjoy:
I have had the pleasure of enjoying several careers since leaving Clear Lake. Music was a passion since childhood and I followed that dream for 13 years. Following my college, I moved to Nashville, TN, where I was in Christian Music traveling 250-300 days/year. During this time I recorded 20 record albums, appeared on various TV programs in U.S. and Canada, and had the privilege of sharing the stage with numerous international television, recording, and political personalities. Several of our friends and family worked with Elvis Presley in his Las Vegas show. The next 10 years I spent with a Fortune 500 company joining them in Nashville, transferred to Columbus, OH, and finally relocated to the corporate offices in Atlanta, GA. During these 10 years I continued my music interest as a volunteer music director in the various churches we attended. In 1994 I went back to school, received my minister's license and became a Director of Music and Fine Arts at a large church in Dunwoody, GA. During this time we conducted the annual Living Christmas Tree, Easter Cantata, and July 4th Freedom Celebrations. Our music department participated in some of the 1996 Olympic venues as well as the opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics where 85,000 people from around the world gathered to kick off this special event. It was awesome! For the last 8 years I have had the privilege of starting a print business and developing 2 internet companies. We attend and are actively involved at North Point Community Church where Dr. Andy Stanley is pastor. It's been an exciting, learning, growing, and gratifying journey.
My wife, Linda, and I began a structured running schedule in 1972 and have continued this commitment ever since. For 10 years we have run in the July 4, Peachtree Road Race where 55,000 runners participate. I have also run in ½ and full marathons and had the fun of running around the lake when on a return trip to Clear Lake.
Favorite song from the 60's: I don't think I had a specific favorite song however I enjoyed such artists as, The Association, Sergio Mendez and Brazil'66, Fifth Dimension, and some others.
