Life After Graduation:
From the ages between 12 and 16, I worked for a traveling carnival during the summer months and then in the winter I worked at Halfords washing dishes. Halfords was across the alley from where Butchers is now. After that, I worked at the Holiday Inn in Mason City as a cook. In 1966 I was drafted into the Army and sent to Vietnam, where I met my future wife and ended up spending 7 years there. Upon returning to the states, I worked in the oil fields in Louisiana. In 1982 we moved to Oklahoma where I managed and owned restaurants. I have been in 42 foreign countries and there are only two states (Maine and Rhode Island) that I have not visited. I love playing golf, but am a bad golfer.
