Enjoyed reading about the "Color of the Wind" kite flying festival at Clear Lake and wanted to share my love of kite flying. I just got my first kite for the year (2008); it's a bald eagle with a wingspan of 6+ feet. Last summer I went out to a pasture and flew 6 all at once and laid on my back and watched them. It must be something about growing up at the Lake. My two boys were always embarrassed by me hauling them off somewhere to fly kites when I was the only one actually participating in the activity! Now I'm doing the same thing with my grand kids and most of them think I'm crazy too.

Life Now:

I live in Montana with my second husband. Two years ago we bought a house. The 7 years prior to that, we lived in a 34' 5th-wheeler and traveled, always coming back to Montana in the summertime. My first husband, Dick Phelps from Rockwell, and I divorced years ago and my second husband and I have been married for 11 years and have known each other for 20. I have two boys from my first marriage who are 34 and 38. Each of them has 3 children and all of them live within 35 miles. We've been here for 30 years.
