Retired? Activities you enjoy:
Close to the retirement thing, I was fortunate to land a job that brought us to our favorite state. We love Arizona and will stay here. However for 3 months out of the year we could easily live in Chris's Montana, our second favorite state.
We like biking, Did the GABA Arizona ride last year from the Grand Canyon down to Tucson, only 546 miles with 31,200 ft of climbing ). Chased my wife the whole way, she was on her ultra light weight, multi geared, trendy bike and I was on my old Schwinn Traveler 10 speed (vintage early 80's). After the trip, I promptly bought a new 30 speed, super light weight, carbon fibered bike and got a new hip this spring ( I won't be running any more Ron). With the new Floyd Landis hip, I am now ready to take on those mountains again!
We enjoy hiking and backpacking throughout the west. Have several good stories to relate about Mr. Grizz.
Skiing is also great fun with trips to Utah and Colorado. My son also skis and brought two of his children with him to ski with Grandma this Spring in Utah. All had a great time.
We do the blue grass thing too Lincicum. Believe it or not I have a banjo and play a few tunes. "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" is my greatest accomplishment thus far. Sandy is more advanced than me and could probably play with Randy, she also does the guitar.
We get a little fishing in on occasion and greatly enjoy visiting Alaska as you can see from the picture. This was one day's catch this summer. We have plenty of good Salmon, Cod and Halibut for this winter.
We also enjoy the wildlife (birds, javelina, coyotes, snakes, scorpions and ants) in the Tucson area. We would have liked to learn more about the ants, but the "Ant Lady" promptly left Tucson for Florida upon hearing of our arrival.
Favorite song from the 60's for background music: Can't remember any it was too long ago! I like "Cheeseburger in Paradise" but it was probably from another decade.
Closing comments, I enjoyed reading the stories and looking at the pictures. I will try to hook up with my fellow Arizonans. Great job on putting this together girls, However where are your current snapshots???????
