Dennis L. Collins
FRISCO, Colo. - Dennis L. Collins, 44, of 212 S. Sixth Ave., died Monday (Dec. 16, 1991) at Summit Medical Center in Frisco.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Clear Lake. The Rev. Daniel Krumrel will officiate. Following the service the body will be cremated.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. Visitation will continue from 8 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home Friday morning. There will be no viewing at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be given in his name.
Mr. Collins was born July 22, 1947, in Clear Lake, the son of Keith and Revena (Moretz) Collins. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1965 and North Iowa Area Community College. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in business from Mankato State University. He was employed at the Clear Lake Bakery for two years.
In 1974, he moved to Colorado to help open a restaurant called "Rendevous" in Dillon, Colo. He was also involved in real estate. In 1986, he left Colorado to spend time in Idaho, where he logged. He also lived in Atlanta, Ga. He returned to Colorado in 1989 and has lived there ever since. He loved to downhill and cross-country ski. He loved his dog, Jackson, the outdoors and nature.
Survivors include his parents, Keith and Revena Collins of Clear Lake; his loved one, Sherri Combs, Frisco, Colo.; two sisters, Linda and Rick Ott, Clear Lake, and Becky and Don Erickson, Ames; a brother, Dr. Chad and his wife, Dawn Collins, Hampton; four nieces, Amber and Casee Erickson, Angela Ott and Taylor Collins; and a nephew, Brady Ott.
