Cheryl Kay (Trimble) Rettig, 56, of 1200 10th Ave. N., Clear Lake, Iowa died May 5, 2004 at her home. Services were held Monday, May 10, at the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Thomas Healey officiating. Cremation followed the service and inurnment will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Family suggests memorials to the Cheryl Kay Rettig Memorial Fund.
Cheryl was born June 12, 1947 in Mason City, the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth (Burgener) Trimble. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1965. She then continued her education at University of Northern Iowa and La'James College of Hairstyling and Cosmetology. Cheryl owned and operated her own business in Minnesota for many years.
Cheryl married Jim Rettig in Arizona where her son, Josh, was born. She later moved to Clear Lake to be closer to her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Josh Rettig, Clear Lake; her father, Harold Trimble, Mason City; mother, Elizabeth Trimble, Clear Lake; three sisters, Nina Hepperly, Mason City, Teresa Thompson, Tempe, Az. and Linda Oletzke and her husband, Michael, Fairmont, Minn.; two brothers, David Trimble and his wife, Cindy, Layton, Utah and Daniel Trimble and his wife, Patti, Ft. Dodge, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
