MASON CITY - Carolyn Jane Stricker, 50, of 801 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, died Thursday (Nov. 13, 1997) of an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Thomas Healey officiating. The family will be at the church one hour before the services to greet friends. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given in memory of Carolyn to the Humane Society of North Iowa.
Carolyn worked for the Willow Brook Beauty Shop in Mason City. She married Richard Stricker on Oct. 15, 1966, at the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake. She owned and operated Carolyn's Poodle Parlor in Mason City for more than 20 years. She also was a Girl Scout leader during her daughter's scouting years.
Carolyn collected Coca Cola memorabilia and also collected Snow Village of Dept. 56. She enjoyed her animals, fishing trips to Minnesota, snowmobiling, the outdoors, riding motorcycles, decorating the house for the holidays and putting up Christmas lights. She was a member of the Coca Cola collectors.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Stricker, of Mason City; daughter, Kristie Niemi and her husband, Christopher, Maple Grove, Minn.; her mother, Lu Davis, Clear Lake; brother, John Davis and his wife, Helga, Sylvania, Ohio; nephews and nieces, Jeff Davis and his wife, Pam, Santa Claus, Ind., Derek Stricker and Sara Stricker, both of rural Clear Lake, Jacob Schallock and Jason Schallock, both of rural Mason City; her mother and father-in-law, Dave and Marie Stricker Jr., Clear Lake; her sister-in-law, Nadine Schallock and her husband, Wayne, rural Mason City; and her brother-in-law, Marlen Stricker and his wife, Nancy, rural Clear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1982.
