Activities you enjoy:
RV camping, outdoor theater (especially season tickets to the Muny in Forest Park, St. Louis), visiting the kids and grandkids in Texas and Massachusetts - and having them visit us, and projects on the computer - especially photos. I'm so glad we have unlimited long distance, computers and email today - so that we can get lots of pictures and video of our family - and talk to them as often as we would like! I also enjoy being reconnected with classmates via email!
Favorite song from the 60's for background music:
Blue Velvet (Bobby Vinton)
Life Since CLHS: I attended Luther College and NIACC before marrying John in the summer of 1967. We then lived in Iowa Falls, IA and Mankato, MN, while John attended school and graduated from Mankato State College in 1970. He lost the "lottery" and enlisted in the Army for the next several years. While John spent a year in Basic, AIT, and OCS, I moved back to Clear Lake and attended Hamilton Business College, graduating in 1971. John was assigned to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, where we lived for almost 4 years. I was a stay-at-home mom - for the next 17 years, actually. Our two oldest children, Jason and Erin, were born at Ft. Leonard Wood. We spent a few months in Ft. Benning, GA, before John decided to leave the Army. We then moved to St. Louis, MO and have continued to live in this area ever since. We had another son, Andy, in 1985.
Our son, Jason, recently graduated from Texas A & M and his family is living in Austin, TX now. Sherry and Jason just had their 4th child in May of 2007. Our daughter, Erin, is a PharmD and moved to New Ashford, MA with her husband, Alex. They are expecting their first baby in October, 2007. Five grandchildren - yea!! Just wish they were all closer. Andy, 22, has served in Iraq and is currently living in St. Charles.
I have worked part-time (about 30 hours/week) for the past 18 years. I hope to retire from my current job when I'm 62. We would like to get a larger RV and do more traveling in the years ahead - and it looks like we will be making a lot of trips to Texas and Massachusetts - if we can't get the "kids" to move back to St. Louis!!
This August (2007), we had a wonderful weekend with friends and family celebrating our 40th anniversary, along with a baby shower for Erin and a baptism for our newest granddaughter, Athena - and family pictures taken. My daughter-in-law put together a video of the past 40 years for us. Lots of memories and it made us realize how really blessed we have been!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again at our 45th class reunion!!
