I teach in the Children, Youth & Family Studies Program at Trinity Lutheran College. After CLHS, Luther College BA, Yale, Divinity School M.Div., University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Claremont, Doctorate. For fun I kayak, bike, garden, and read.

Five “children”: son, Erik, 25 deputy sheriff in California, Amy, 22, just graduated from college in education currently working in Shanghai, China with husband; Katie 20 college junior in education; Leah 18 starting college this fall in child psych; Kristin 13, Jr. High. Dad died at 87 three years ago, mom 91. lives nearby and doing well as is sister, Mary.

Favorite song from the 60’s for background music: Anything Beatles, Chicago, Crosby, Stills, Nash, Joni Mitchell….

I am also attaching a picture of a couple "bonsai" that I have created. Now that my knees are shot after 30 years of running, more sedentary hobbies like bonsai, kayaking, and biking put less strain on the extremities.
