DURANGO, Colo.

Steven R. Schultz, 50, died Wednesday (Feb. 26, 1997) in Durango.

Funeral services are planned on Monday at the Christ Episcopal Church in St. Joseph, Mo..

A Celebration of Life memorial service is being planned for Steve on his birthday, July 14, 1997, in Durango.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Charles Bernard Schultz Education Fund, Attn: Patti Burkholder, Norwest Bank, P.O. Drawer K, Durango, Colo. 81302.

Steven R. Schultz was born in Columbia, Mo., graduated from Clear Lake High School, Clear Lake, Iowa, and from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Anthropology.

He served in the Vietnam War and was a decorated veteran.

He had lived in Durango since 1985, with his wife, Julie, and son, Charles.

Steve was a licensed residential real estate appraiser for nearly 20 years and in recent years, a broker with his downtown business, The Buyers Brokerage.

Prior to living in Durango, Steve and his wife lived in Frisco, Colo., for 10 years.

Steve was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity at the university.

Besides his wife, Julie Wynhoff Schultz and his son, Charles, survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Schultz of St. Joseph, Mo.; his sister, Sara Schultz Nelson of Green Bay,  Wis.; his sister, Amy Schultz Grier of St. Joseph, Mo.; and his brother, Fred Schultz of Green Bay, Wis.

The Hood Mortuary, Durango, is in charge of arrangements.
