Nickname (that you know of!): "Lou" or "Louie" (that was my dad's name)
Martial status: Married (Sept. 1973) Spouse's name: Kay
Home address: 914 Ellen St., Cedar Falls, Ia. 50613
Phone #: 319 - 266 - 8624
Your life since 1964: Went to MCJC for (2) years and finished a B.A. in Math Ed. at UNI (State College of Iowa back then). Got a high school math teaching job at Cedar Falls High School and was there until 1979. (Picked up an M.A. at the State Univ. of New York at Buffalo in 73;) Also got married in 73' (still in training). I moved on to John Deere as an Ind. Engineer in 79', then on to Chamberlain Mfg. in 85', then back to teaching math in 92' and finally returned to where I started at CFHS in 98'. I guess Mr. Brandt (one of these days I'll have the courage to call him Gus) really had an impact on what I was going to do in my life. I didn't do the coaching, but have followed high school football and basketball for many years. I had planned to retire last year, but the stock market said you should do one more year, just to be sure. I continue to enjoy teaching math, have been the dept. chair the last few years (I drew the short straw), and really get a kick out of kids - thinking what crazy things we were doing in high school.
Your life now: We have (3) boys who are grown up and have been out of the nest for some time and (8) grand kids. Doug and Scott landed in Minneapolis and Jason is in Chicago, so we do get there occasionally. Kay is retiring this month as a medical lab tech and I will hang it up next June. After being in our home for (32) years, we decided to move north in 2006, so bought a larger home two houses north of our previous home. We got our 5th Scottish terrier (Teddi) last year, and she has been training us very well - called the 'Dog Whisperer' for help, but they said "sorry". I golf two or three times a week and enjoy working in the yard and a little gardening. I get to Canada once a year on a fly-in fishing trip - my brother Denny goes and even got Mike Nelson to go the last year and this year. Life has been good and we have a lot of things to be thankful for. (Sorry Mr. Potts, I ended that last sentence with a preposition!)
