Your life since 1964: I was one of many in our class that went over to MCJC. After one year, I went on to Luther College and in 1968 graduated with a degree in elementary education.
I taught second grade in the Wayzata MN district for 5 years. Then I was a stay-at-home mom for 7 years before returning to teaching. This time it was a half time position, teaching 4 year olds at a great pre-school near our home. After 17 years of that, I went back to Wayzata and to the same school I had taught in. I am starting my tenth year there as an instructional assistant. The hours are great and I guess I was meant to be a teacher because I still look forward to going to work!
Your life now: My life now is great. Bob & I have two sons, Adam and Ryan, that have wonderful young ladies in their lives. Ryan and his wife, Jen, have a one-year-old daughter that is the joy of our lives. My Mom is doing well at 91 years old and we see her as often as we can. We are busy all the time with family and good friends.
What classmates have you kept in contact with? : We have remained in touch with several classmates and feel lucky to have friendships that have withstood the test of time....some since early grade school.
What classmates would you like to hear from? : We have been unable to locate Julie (Barlow) and Pat (Hampel)
Any hobbies? : I enjoy gardening, rubber stamping greeting cards, playing bridge, raising orchids, walking, golfing, bird watching and reading.
Memories of Clear Lake : Clear Lake was a great place to grow up. Most of my relatives lived in town and close to us so we saw them often. I remember saving my money so I could have fun at the 4th of July carnival; - riding my bike up town and to the lake for swimming lessons. I spent a fair amount of time on the lake and just loved that. Working at the Dairy Bar on the highway way my summer job for a few years - and I still love ice cream!! I also have fond memories of my time spent at church - Luther league, choir, teaching VBS and of course 'meeting' the Ellingson family. High school year memories like slumber parties, potluck dinners, float building, various clubs at school, talking on the phone and hanging out with friends always bring a smile to my face.
Favorite song of 1964 or earlier : "Love Me Tender" (I loved Elvis!)
