I'll give it a go.....Moved to Oregon with family about two weeks after graduation. A whole new adventure for all of us. Attended Business College and began to date my Oregon pen pal and in January, l965 we were married. I couldn't have been luckier. He has been a great companion, husband, super Dad and now Papa. We have three children, l0 grandchildren and have lived in our home for 3l years. Oregon is very beautiful and, much as I love Iowa and remember my l8 years there very fondly, I'm pretty much an Oregonian now. I have friends who are from Iowa, and we have this special bond! Kind of neat. So, I must say my life has been good and I feel blessed. My parents have passed and my brother and sister live in other states; I'm the one who stayed. Your life now: Life now is satisfying and plenty busy. We still work in our family grocery business, have church committments and spend lots of time working on the house, yard and whatever else comes along. Our kids live fairly close and we enjoy visits often. Oldest granddaughter is almost 20, so it makes us, dare I say, feel a little "old'. Our health is pretty good for which we are thankful. We are both involved in our Rural Fire District, Bob as a fireman and I am on the Board. We haven't got time to retire, but, one of these days..........
