YOUR LIFE SINCE 1963: In 1963 I went to cosmotology school in Mason City for awhile. I got married to Jim Nielsen in Forest City, Ia. and could not finish my school. Lived there for 1 year and my husband worked at Winnebago Industries. We moved to Clear Lake for a year. And my husband got a job to work in trailer manufacturing out in Elkhart, Indiana, so we moved out there for 3 years. Our son was real sick with kidney problems and the best surgeon was there.
After he was well, we moved back to Forest City and lived there for 12 years. My husband worked at Winnebago and I did child care and stayed home and canned food. We built a new home on the Winnebago River.
We again packed up and this time moved to South Dakota to build customized vans with a friend. We lasted a year and he moved us to Mn. Then we stayed there for 8 years. I worked in a factory and worked in kitchens. My husband worked in a factory for awhile and then started an employment agency for factories. We expanded into 4 other locations and was doing well-financially.
Got divorced in 1988. Hey, ask me how to pack and load a truck! I definitely have the experience and a great organizer. Both of my sons were born in Forest City. I have 3 grandsons---14,15,17. I stayed in Mn. for 2 more years to learn how to survive being divorced and still be close to friends and family. Then when I got my settlement money, I packed up and moved to Fl. to be closer to my sis and aunts. My children still live in Mn..
I also have one sis in Iowa City in a nursing home. She will be 66 this year. Needless to say, I got lonely and married in 1992. Was divorced in 1997 but still communicate with him.
YOUR LIFE NOW: I got on ssn disability back in 2004 for arthritis and I work 25 hours a week at a discount store. I lived in Clearwater, Fl. for 4 years. Also lived in Ft. Myers, Fl. for 10 years, and now I live in Sebring, Fl. Recently moved to a senior apt. complex where I don't have to fix anything or pay for it. I can just do my gardening. I drive a pick-up now (in case I have to move). I used to drive a z-24--really like coupes. Oh, my other job skill was-dry cleaning and laundry. Had this occupation for 13 years. Learned how to operate all the equipment and was manager twice.

Dancing, gardening, organizing things for other people, book work, drawing plans before I build or do something, painting ceramics, tying macrame'. I learned to use saws and tools in past life. Being alone forced me to use my resources to save money when I could not buy what I wanted. Have built closet doors, shelving, steps, a room on a porch with a work shop. Designed the plans for our new home and 2 additions and outside lattice work on all my duplex apts.
