Your life since 1963:  I worked the summer of 1963 at the NW States Portland Cement Plant, the joined the Air Force on the Buddy Plan along with Ron Nelson.  We were together through basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas, then went on to separate technical training schools.   I served my enlistment at Lowry AFB in Denver, then overseas on Okinawa.  I was discharged 3 months early in June, 1967 in order to start the fall term at NIACC.  After one year at NIACC, I transferred to ISU.  I was married in 1968, we lived in married student housing in Ames.  I graduated in 1971 and started work for Oscar Meyer & Co., as an Industrial Engineer at their Perry, IA plant.  I worked there until June, 1975, then accepted a position as a civilian employee of the US Army Reserve Component Personnel Administration Center in St. Louis, Mo.  After two years there, I accepted a position with the Defense Logistics Agency in Battle Creek, MI.  I worked there for four years, then accepted a position with the Air Force in Las Vegas, NV.  In 1982, I accepted a position with the US Army Corps of Engineers in their Ohio River Division headquarters office, Cincinnati, OH.  I worked in that office for over 20 years, and retired in January, 2003.  I have enjoyed retirement, doing various home and yard projects, and several hobbies every since.  I heartily recommend retirement to everyone!

Your life now:  Home and yard projects as well as hobbies and babysitting wonderful grandchildren.  My wife in still employed and will probably work for another two or three years.  She is from Mason City, and has many relatives in that area.  My folks still live in Mason City.  We travel up to the area four or so times per year to visit, and attend various events (unfortunately also funerals).  My wife has had three older brothers die within the last five years.

We have two sons.  The oldest, Travis, lives here in Florence.  He has two children, and has inherited two more from a second marriage.  He is a police officer.  The younger son, Edward, lived here in Cincinnati until recently, and is now a resident of Menlo Park, CA.  His wife recently received her Doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati and accepted a position at Stanford University.  This necessitated him finding a job out there, and he now works in San Francisco, and rides the commuter train from Menlo Park up to work.  He is a computer graphics and programmer person, and has had a number of PC games published.  Both sons graduated from college, one from U. of Louisville and one from Northern KY U.

My younger sister, Bonnie, lives in the Springfield, Illinois area.  She has three sons and two grandchildren, one boy and one girl.  She is employed by the State of Illinois as a computer programmer.  We visit occasionally.

What classmates have you kept in contact with? :  Ron Nelson and Burton Fisher.

What classmates would you like to hear from? :  Mike Loeffler, Mike Blair and Bruce Appleoff.  I actually ran into Mike Loeffler when I was stationed in Okinawa.  He was also in the AF, and was serving as a Loadmaster in a C-130 squadron.  The last I heard, Blair was in the Chicago area and Appleoff was in the Cedar Rapids area.

Would/could you help find classmates? : Sure

Any hobbies? :  Amateur astronomy, amateur radio, playing guitar, occasionally DJ ing dances, car shows, etc.

Favorite song of 1963 or earlier:  "Ting-A-Ling" by Buddy Holly

Unable to find music in midi format.
Buddy Holly says,
'That'll be the day' when you do.
so song is replaced with an mp3 version.
(I realize some of you won't be able to hear this music).
