military, working in Thailand and Viet Nam 1968-1974, finding The Lord in 1974,
a perfect spouse in 1976, blessed with five wonderful children, survived
Citibank for 22 years.
Memories from your
school days- First grade Mrs
Nelson, Dick and Jane and her little call to order bell. Fifth & sixth grade
at the new Sunset school and teaming up with David Brownstone to cause trouble.
During middle school summer band practice, often being too shy to open the doors
and enter the bank practice room when others were already there. Having Mr
Becker tap me for several school plays, especially "On Borrowed Time" and Tea
House of the August Moon", in the latter I ad libbed the Japanese and somehow a
bit of Spanish found its way into the translation. Lancer's car club,
meeting house across the street from Bob Albright's with me being about the only
member without a car. At John Holt's garage we stripped down an old
Pontiac to the frame, replaced the clutch and lashed on a seat to have a unique
"Hot Rod" that was actually fairly quick off the line. Riding around with Mike
Bainter in his raked Plymouth(?). Was it Mike or Fran Lyons who raked the
family car by torching the front springs? Providing the ketchup covered
arm hanging out the back of John Holt's car's trunk and driving around the
town. Having Fran Lyons drop a lighted cigarette in my front pocket and me
then slugging him on the jaw with all my might, unlike the movies he did not
pitch over out cold and I thought my A-- was Grass. Neither did he jump
out of his car and pound me, later revealing that he too was surprised.
Having Barb Erikson encourage me to get up the nerve to ask Gloria to the Senior
Prom, which I did and remember having a fun time.
People I've Stayed
In Touch With- Mike Bainter,
Fran Lyons, Larry Miller, Arvid Matson
Favorite song from
50s or 60s (for background music on your page)- This is difficult, "Splish Splash" comes to mind
for some odd reason.
