Robert was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Mt. Vernon Township, Rural Route Clear Lake, the son of Kenneth Olinger and Ruth Blickenderfer Olinger. Robert attended Mt. Vernon #2 Country School, Swaledale High School and then graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1961. Robert attended Oklahoma State Tech. College, Okmulgee, Okla., where he obtained a degree in drafting. He worked for Wallace Holland Kastler Schmitz and Co. in Mason City, Iowa, for over 35 years.
On Nov. 14, 1970, he married Judy McMurray in Swaledale, Iowa. Robert enjoyed riding the tractor, being in the country, fishing, playing cards, taking his grandson and feeding the ducks. He really enjoyed watching his children play in sports.
Robert was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, National Hemophilic Foundation Midwest Chapter.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Olinger, Mason City; two children, Carrie Olinger and Robert Olinger, both of Mason City; a grandson, Anthony Mathew Johnson, Mason City; his father Kenneth Olinger, Meservey, Iowa; a step-mother, Janice Olinger, Meservey; two brothers, Ellery Olinger and his wife, Carolyn, Clear Lake, and William Olinger and his wife, Sharren, Mason City; several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1989; and grandparents.
