Highlights:
The best times have been those spent with my family! Other highlights: Iowa Journalism Educator Award, chaperoning trips to D.C. with students in my American Heritage classes, traveling with qualifying students to national speech contests, traveling to
Japan and China, working with residents at Opportunity Village to publish books of their writing and Country Living’s Outstanding Volunteers Award for that work.
Memories:
Moving to the new school in 1960, Surf dances especially the night Buddy Holly was there, arguing with John Strauss about women’s roles, working on newspaper and yearbook staffs, the senior trip to Minneapolis, hanging out with Maxine and Dixie and Linda Purviance (’62), the muddy back parking lot, and the death of the construction worker in the dumb waiter.
Current activities:
Spending time with my family; Board of the Clear Lake Community Schools Foundation; Board of Wright on the Park; art; crafts; writing poetry; computer graphics; designing and selecting furnishings for my new house; reading; traveling; directing Cup O Joe productions for the CL Arts Center; other volunteer activities and political campaigning.

60’s, 70’s, 80’s oldies, Celtic, classical guitar, some pop and classical.
