Highlights of your life: Married to a wonderful pastor who also was a news anchor in four different states; Lived in Atlanta, Georgia for a year, then Montana for three years in the late 70's and returned here 25 years later. Raised or assisted in raising six wonderful children; Have 12.5 grandchildren! Have had the privilege of living in several states. Involved in some great projects in Livingston that are affecting the lives of teenagers. I continue to work in the operating room at Livingston HealthCare~am the oldest employee in the hospital, I think!! I know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior!
Memories from your school days: We only lived in Clear Lake for about five years, from about 1949 to 1954.The grade school sat on a "very high hill" that I had to climb every day! (We actually lived across the street from Dave Wistey (1959 CLHS grad) on the highway, a short distance from the school...which was not on a hill!) Attended kindergarten in the garden-level classroom and I recall holding hands with Keith Ashland as we walked to gym class, down the steps. As a first grader (I think), I danced as a flower in THE NUTCRACKER. (I have recently "reprised" my role but "danced" as one of the old rats in THE NUTCRACKER.) I loved ice skating and boating with my family on the lake and going to Bayside. My folks danced at the original Surf Ballroom. I have many, many memories and I only lived there for a short time! I took my husband back there for a wonderful visit a few years ago! About two years ago I discovered, to my great surprise, that Dave and Chris Wistey live here in Livingston!!!
Activities you now enjoy: I enjoy all types of writing. I thoroughly enjoy working with teenagers; I teach a high school Sunday School class and facilitate a young teen girls group every other weekend. We are working on opening a youth coffee house in memory of a 13 year teen girl who died of bacterial meningitis. I love the snow and standing in the wind on a cold, snowy day in Montana! Two years ago I gutted my first deer. This past year I shot (one shot) and killed my first deer and gutted her. My next goal is to shoot an elk next year. I look forward to trying out for the Radio City Rockettes some time!!!! (I am a dancer in my heart.) My bucket list goes on and on!
Favorite music: I thoroughly enjoy all types of jazz plus music from the 40's and 50's.
This was taken last summer in NYC where our son, Brian O'Brian, is an architect (very long story about his name!!) and our daughter, Julie, works but actually commutes there from Denver once a month! We also have two daughters in PA, a son in SD and a daughter in NE.
