Career notes: Graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, IA, then into the Air Force (during Viet Nam) as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer assigned to large cargo aircraft, C-5A and C-141's. While in the Air Force met and married Maureen an Air Force Nurse. Earned an MBA in Management from Golden Gate University in night school. We have lived in Fort Wayne for the last 35 years and have been primarily in Materials Management for first tier vendors to the automotive industry. Retired now, I'm working on a project to fill a vacant parochial school building with a new Charter School and a major educational social service agency.
Highlights of your life: Marriage to my wife Maureen and God's gift of 2 wonderful children, now responsible adults. Have been able to have interesting jobs, opportunities, and to make interesting observations on my trip through life.
Memories from your school days: Worked on the Junior class food vending operations to earn class money for the Junior-Senior Prom. Memories of taking pictures of various school activities; football & basketball teams and games, dances, and thinking back to shooting pictures of several football games from the top of a light pole at Lions Field. Remember needing cheerleaders pictures for the Lions Tale with a short deadline. Took the pictures with NO film in the camera, so had to call all the cheerleaders for an early morning picture session the next day. I took the pictures, developed them and met the 4 PM deadline. It took a while to live that down!
Activities you now enjoy: Spending time with my children and grandchildren, traveling, reading, using the computer, Kiwanis (last year our club made, bagged, and sold 1250 one pound bags of the most delicious peanut brittle as a fundraiser), and church activities.
Favorite music: Classical music and Show tunes.
Favorite song from 1957-1961: (for background music for your page): "Summertime" (spent a lot of hours in the darkroom printing pictures and listening to Summertime on radio station KRIB).
