2005

To all of Pete's friends,

It has now been two weeks since I lost the love of my life so suddenly.  It has been the hardest two weeks of my life.  I did not know many of you and was acquainted with some of you, however, Pete spoke of you often.

I was married to Pete for 30 years and we have so many wonderful memories together. I always thought Romeo and Juliets' love for each other and their passion had nothing over ours.  After being with Pete for those years, they truly did not have anything on us.  I have always heard it is "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".  I was truly blessed with my Pete.  Make each day count.

Jesus said, " In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you".  Someday, I will receive the mansion Jesus has prepared for me, it is my knowing that my mansion will be with Pete.  Pete gave me wonderful children, and we both always felt so blessed.  I will truly miss him with all my heart, but I know he now looks over me.

Thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, cards and flowers, I know Pete would of been humbled by the outpouring of your love and kindness.  Please stay in touch.  To each of you, God bless.

Retta Smith
