Name -Justin (Jut) Hughes
Birthday - May 23, 1942
WHASSUP Since 1960 - Graduated West Point, commissioned 2LT Infantry, married Joyce Namack of New York City, and began a 29 year adventure with the U.S. Army, all first week of June, '64. Sons Bill and Justin were born in '65 and '68; daughters Megan and Erin in '72 and '77. All four survived growing up as nomads in America, Germany, and Italy. For me most memorable and influencing duty was as advisor to the Vietnamese Army during the late '60s, and as commander, 13th Infantry, in Germany in mid-'80s. Bought a home in Fredericksburg in '90, and retired in Sep '93. Became a Magistrate, Commonwealth of Virginia, in '96, a job I continue to enjoy. Will probably continue "on the Bench" until '05, when we'll retire for "real" to Mast Hope, our farmhouse on the Delaware River in PA.
WHASSUP Now - Diagnosed as having Parkinson's Disease in Fall '98. Motor control on right side of body has been severely effected. In Summer '02 volunteered for a federally funded research program into deep brain stimulus surgery. Underwent bilateral deep brain stimulator surgery in Aug '04. Altho the jury is still out early results are excellent: cane is in the umbrella stand and I did the "Cotton-Eyed Joe" at a barn dance in Dallas last week. Save me a dance at the reunion!!!
Get in Touch with Whom - Anyone and everyone who's willing to have a correspondent who is quite simply awful at "getting back" (witness this submission).
Chances of Making a 45th or 50th Reunion - As I told BillyMac when he and Judi came to visit last month - it's a whole lot easier to say "yes" than to make it happen - but with that understood, "yes" (non-answer)
Favorite Song -

Now: Grateful Dead: anything Sinatra.

And that's' about all she wrote. And I DO look forward to the reunion in August I believe.
