It was great to visit the web site and catch up on whasshappening with many of you. After High School I spent a year in Southern California (Party Time) I joined the Air Force in 1964 after a year at MCJC. In 1969 I attended school for another year then moved back to Anaheim, CA where I worked for Laurentide Finance and Transamerica in the finance business. It was during this time that I had a tremendous conversion experience where I gave my heart to Jesus and was filled with the Holy Ghost. My life has revolved around the Church ever since. After two years of Bible School the Lord called me to quit my job, give away my possessions and go across county, hitch hiking with another Christian brother. We spent two years on the road, telling people about Jesus. We had spent a winter in Fort Worth Texas at a Christian Coffee House called the Cornerstone. The leader their asked me to help him start a Church and I spent the next several years building a Church which is still going strong today and has a K-12 school there as well. Over the years I've done everything in the Church from janitor to pastor. I worked as a manager of a book and Bible warehouse, a consultant for a Church Directory Company out of Galion, Ohio and a maintenance man at a Christian Retreat, called Faith Ventures in the mountains of NE Georgia. God has been good!
Now that I am retired I enjoy writing short stories. I also go on Lay Witness missions and Celebrate Jesus Missions around the state of Florida. I sing solo's in Churchs around this area and occassionally am invited to preach. I never married and I don't have a lot of this world's possessions, but I do have many spiritual son's and daughter's around the country. If you are searching I would love to talk to you.
I was back to Clear Lake for a couple of unofficial reunions over the years. Saw Traudi Beckmann, Dave Bergmann, Jerry Bisgrove, Bill Bryan, Chuck Clapsaddle, Dave Lansrude, Ted Lindquist, Susan MacDonald, and Pete Smith, but I haven't kept up and have lost track of most of them.
Two messages, first to BERT, you can access my Checking Acct. if you have a need and I have a neighbor lady who is looking for a man. To BILL I have it from a good Source that they do play golf in Heaven and every hole is a par seven.
A Note from Dick
This is me at 63. (The picture at the top.)
I was in Gathenberg, Tn last summer on vacation.
I have been in Clear Lake for the 4th of July and we had to get a reservation for a motel reservation one year in advance. So a date should be nailed down ASAP. (Note about our last reunion date.)
My Dad died in August of this year and my Mother lives near by at the Villages. I hope to be able to bring her to Clear Lake if possible. She's 85 but going strong.
Dick
