What I am doing now:
I have recently finished writing my thirty-sixth novel.  I will post the title and publication date when they become available from the publisher.  My first seven novels were published under the pen name Patt Parrish, the twenty-five published by Bantam-Doubleday-Dell, the three published by Silhouette have been published under Patt Bucheister. Work in progress is a biography/novel featuring an ancestor, Hannah Fluharty (1788-1875) who led a rather extraordinary life in Virginia (which later became West Virginia after the Civil War).  I'm also working on a fictional journal, which features calligraphy, black and white sketches and color drawings depicting a year in the life of a seventeen-year-old young woman in Virginia in 1740

Family
Ray Bucheister (CLHS class of 60) and I have been married forty-six years.  He served in the US Navy for twenty-four years, including a thirteen-month deployment to Vietnam, retiring from the Navy as a Lieutenant.  Due to his military career, we have lived in California, Hawaii (three years), England (four years), and Virginia.  We returned a year ago from Lago Patria, Italy after living there a year. We have two sons, Scott who lives in Jacksonville,Fl and Todd who resides in Las Vegas.  Our granddaughter, Priscilla, graduated from high school in 2006, is now married and lives in Virginia Beach.  Grandaughter, Gillian will be married in September and she and her husband will be living in Virginia Beach also.  Tyler has graduated from college and is currently working and living in the Tidewater area.

More words from Patt
The list of books Patt has written.
Pat's experience in painting helped her in the development of her writing career.  "I began to approach writing like painting.  You learn to do things in a certain order."

Born and raised in Iowa, Patt has lived in Hawaii, California, Italy, Virginia and England where in 1978, her manuscript, Make the Angle Weep, was accepted for publication by one of Britain's top publication houses.  More than thirty novels later, "she continues to write romance novels with a tender warmth that is both refreshing and satisfying", as described by "The Romantic Times".

Mrs. Bucheister has had her paintings displayed at various art shows thoughout the United States; Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art Show, Santa Clara Country Pavillion, Chesapeake Bay Art Show, San Rafael Arts and Crafts Fesitval, Pearlridge Art Fesitval in Pearl City, Hawaii, The Mayor's Art Show in Honolulu, Hawaii and was permanent exhibitor at the Sunday Art Mart in Waikiki, Hawaii for two years.

Her work is in various private collections and she has done commissions for business firms and military installations.

After moving nineteen times in twenty-four years, Mrs. Bucheister settled in the Florida Keys with her husband of over forty years, retired Navy Lt. Ray Bucheister.  Their two sons, Scott and Todd,  live in Virginia Beach with their families.
