Pat's experience in painting helped her in the development of her writing career. "I began to approach writing like painting. You learn to do things in a certain order."
Born and raised in Iowa, Patt has lived in Hawaii, California, Italy, Virginia and England where in 1978, her manuscript, Make the Angle Weep, was accepted for publication by one of Britain's top publication houses. More than thirty novels later, "she continues to write romance novels with a tender warmth that is both refreshing and satisfying", as described by "The Romantic Times".
Mrs. Bucheister has had her paintings displayed at various art shows thoughout the United States; Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art Show, Santa Clara Country Pavillion, Chesapeake Bay Art Show, San Rafael Arts and Crafts Fesitval, Pearlridge Art Fesitval in Pearl City, Hawaii, The Mayor's Art Show in Honolulu, Hawaii and was permanent exhibitor at the Sunday Art Mart in Waikiki, Hawaii for two years.
Her work is in various private collections and she has done commissions for business firms and military installations.
After moving nineteen times in twenty-four years, Mrs. Bucheister settled in the Florida Keys with her husband of over forty years, retired Navy Lt. Ray Bucheister. Their two sons, Scott and Todd, live in Virginia Beach with their families.
She is a member of Romance Writers of America, Virginia Romance Writers, PAN (Published Authors Network), Chesapeake Romance Writers, National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters, Tidewater Decorative Painters, as well as previous editor of "Brushstrokes", an art magazine.
Patt is listed in "Who's Who of U.S. Writers, Editors and Poets", "The Romantic Spirit" and "The World Who's Who of Women".
