Since High School I attended NIAC before being called to active duty in the US Navy where I served for two years as a reservist. I met and married my soul mate ( Christina aka: "Shorty") in 1962. We have three terrific sons--David, Matthew and Joshua and a number of daughters-inlaw. Our family now includes six grandsons and two granddaughters who range in age from 24 to 3 and we can't get enough of them!
I worked for Lee Enterprises in newspaper advertising for 15 years then left in 1978 to become a self employed Snap On Tool Dealer--a job I loved which allowed me to get to the boys day time sporting events. After 28 years I hung up the keys to the Tool truck and retired in November of '06.
Since retiring we have been on another Caribbean cruise and have been to both Albuquerque, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida to visit family and friends. When I'm home I'm busy making model boats, refinishing furniture and whittling away at Shorty's "honey do" list.
I have lots of school memories:
great friends both male and female
dances at the Surf
ice boating and sailing
snowball fights at the blue barn
Friday night football games
great teachers who pushed me along (Coach Siefkin--Mr. Cool, Ms. Sponheim--Ms. Sweet and Ms Goldberg who wouldn't let me go to football practice until I could type that sentence about that dumb dog and the lazy fox)
I've kept in contact with Ted and Denny. (May he rest in peace at last)
We are both looking forward to the reunion!!
Barb, Nancy and Jim - you are doing a marvelous job!
