What's happened since 1958: After graduation I went to Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Second semester I transferred to St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. In the fall of 1959, I at last found a home at the University of Iowa and graduated in 1962 with a BA and Dental Hygiene degree.
I had always wanted to go to Colorado, so in August of 1962, I moved to Denver, where I met my husband. We moved to the foothills west of Denver and our family grew. We had 3 children ( 1 girl and 2 boys) horses, llama, cats, dogs, geese and goats ( we milked them ).
We became quite involved with our horses---mountain trail rides, an English Fox Hunt, and I rode on 50 mile endurance rides.
When the children were in elementary school, I started practicing Dental Hygiene again. In 1985 I wanted to try something else and became a sales rep for a showroom at the Denver Merchandise Mart. In 1989 a business colleague and I decided to start our own business, Cody-Patton Sales. I retired on January 1, 2008
What's happening now: Our horses were my passion but I now concentrate on my husband, grandchildren, church choir and dogs.
Over the years, listening to others talk about their childhood, I realize how unique Clear Lake was. I feel very blessed to have grown up in that "little bit of heaven !"
I am planning on attending our 50th reunion on August 29th.
