SEABROOK, Texas - Gordon R. Knutson, 60, Major, U.S.A.F. retired, passed away Wednesday (Jan. 17, 2001).
Gordon was born on April 18, 1940, in Elkader. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1958. He attended Grinnell College and Oklahoma State University. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Nebraska.
He was a 50-year Scouter and was active in Masonic work and his church.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Julia Knutson, Seabrook, Texas; his mother, Jean Knutson, Clear Lake; his sons, Brian Knutson and his wife, Angelique, and grandson, Nathaniel, of Weirton, W.Va., and Christopher Knutson of Seabrook, Texas; one brother, Eric Knutson, O.D., and his wife, Pat, of Corvallis, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, M. L. Knutson, O.D.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 4 in the afternoon at the United Methodist Church, Seabrook, Texas.
Donations may be made in his name to the Seabrook United Methodist Church.
